Gathering in a Time of Plague was VSSL Studio’s inaugural public programme, launching a collaboration bewteen curators Benjamin Sebastian and Joseph Morgan Schofield.
VSSL was established in a time of plague. In response to the conditions of pandemic, VSSL studio presented a series of performances that could be witnessed at a distance or through windows, enabling publics to engage in cultural life during a moment of socio-cultural interruption. The prgramme leant into the affective powers of live practice as a way to encourage connection at a time when many experienced social isolation.
